If you're trying to sell a vehicle privately, we'll need to verify that you're the registered keeper.
Please send us the following documentation to customerexperience@autotrader.co.uk:
- A copy of the V5C document
- A photo of your driving license
- The registration of the vehicle you want to sell
- If you are advertising the vehicle on behalf of a family member, please also send their driving license
What happens next?
Once you've given us the above information, our team will review and get back to you with an update as soon as possible.
Any changes that are made to your account will not be permanent, so you could be flagged as a trader again in the future. If this happens, you'll need to follow the same process.
Good to know: We can't tell you the checks that flagged you as a trade seller, these have to remain confidential. But, we can let you know it's not just based on the volume of vehicles you sell.
