Some sellers have reported a scam where fake buyers tamper with a car during a viewing to make it seem damaged.
They may pour oil into the coolant reservoir, exhaust, or onto the engine, then claim the vehicle has a fault to push the price down.

Stay alert during viewings and test drives, and always have a second person with you.
