At Autotrader, we get our data directly from the manufacturers.
Occasionally, manufacturers may rebrand or update the names of their makes or models. This means that all vehicles after the update will use the new naming conventions, for example:
- Mini Cooper is now Mini Hatch, but it does have a Cooper variant/trim
- Before 2016 the DS3 used to be known as a Citroen DS3. DS Automobiles became their own brand and so the Citroen was dropped from the name.
- Before 2018 Cupra wasn't a standalone brand and was a variant/trim of the SEAT, any car made after 2018 that is a Cupra will be listed under the Cupra brand
So, the date when your vehicle was made will determine the data for your vehicle and which search options it will fall into.
