Yes, you can have a phone number through AutoConvert that's the right area code. Contact support first, and they'll set up your account.
Then you'll be able to:
- Head to ‘Settings’
- Select ‘Calling’
- Then ‘Localised numbers’
- You'll be able to see your default number and any active but unused number
- Select the ‘add’ button
- Select your number from the "phone number" dropdown
- Enter your coverage area
- Select a country
- Double click on the map and drop the pin where you would like your virtual office number to be located. This will be used to calculate the distance to the customer's location.
Using the map
If a Manchester number (0161) and a London number (020) are active within your account and you ring a customer based in Milton Keynes, the London number would be served as this is the closest location to the customer (using the postcode on their application).
Country constraint
If the customer you are calling is in North Wales and the closest virtual office number located to them is in Manchester. If you have a number located in Cardiff that you would rather use, this is where you would use the country constraint.
Selecting ‘Wales’ in the country constraint dropdown on the number setup, will make sure any customers based in Wales will get a call from that localised number and not the number closest to them.
If a country constraint isn't selected and the default of ‘Any’ is used, the closest number to the customer will be used, regardless of their location.
If all the localised numbers have a country specified and the applicant being called is not in that country, it will fall back to the default outgoing number.
