Setting up an automation has three main steps, see an example below:
- Trigger: A new application is received
- Rules: The customer is categorised as receiving benefits
- Action: Automatically send out an SMS to the customer to confirm the benefits description and amount received
Trigger:
- Log into AutoConvert
- Head to 'Settings’ in the left hand side navigation tab.
- Then head to ‘Automation’ and then select ‘Configure’
- Select ‘+ Add’
- A pop up will appear where you can name the automation and fill in the details
- It's best to number your automations or be descriptive as to what it does. The system will automatically alphabetise or put it them in numerical order.
- Choose the trigger needed under 'Trigger to kick off the automation'
- In this example, we are using ‘New enquiry received'
- Select 'Save changes'
In the next window, you can select if you would like to enable this rule from the start.
You can always come back and enable this later once you have set everything up.
Now select the ‘Rules’ tab at the top of this pop-up
Rules:
- Select 'Add Rule +'
- In this case, we are going to use ‘Category’
- Choose from the drop down menu
- Once you have picked a rule, you then need to select an operator from the drop down on the right
- In the box below you have to pick an option that is contextual to the rule you have picked
- Now select the ‘+’ button to save this rule
- Then select 'Close'
Please note: Each rule has different operators which can vary depending on your request.
Now, select the ‘Actions’ tab at the top of the pop up
Actions:
- Choose the ‘+Add’
- In this example we are going to select ‘SMS Template’ form the drop down menu under the 'action' heading
- Please note: the execution strategy and offset is optional and allows you to control when your chosen actions occurs and how often
- Then select 'Enabled'
- Then select 'Save changes'
Once complete and you have saved, the pop up will disappear and you will see all your changes.
