Do I need an MOT to sell privately?

You don't need an MOT to sell privately. If you don't have one:

• You must inform the buyer that the vehicle doesn't have a valid MOT. Also, make sure this is in your advert description. 
• The buyer must arrange for it to be picked up appropriately
