What are SMS/text templates used for?
- To save time on frequently used messages
- To help with compliance by sending generic messages
- To make sure all the team members are using the same messages
- To use in automation
How do I set up an SMS/text template?
- Select 'Settings' in the left-hand menu
- Select 'Templates' then 'SMS'
- Select 'Add' in the top right. This will open the message template box.
- Once you're happy, select the 'Save changes' button
Field | What to add |
Name | A title for the template. Be descriptive so it can easily be found. |
Allow manual sends | Box ticked: A team member can manually send the template and it can be used for automation |
Box unticked: The template can only be used for automation | |
Restrict to teams | This allows specific teams to access the template. Add the team names here to restrict it or leave it blank to be used by everyone |
Template type | Application: This is for general use |
Appointment: This is used when letting the customer know about their appointment | |
Message | This is where you type the body of your message. You can use replacement tokens to autofill some information from the application. |
Replacement tokens | These are used in the message body to autofill information from the application. For example, the 'Forename' token will add the customer's forename to the message. |
