If someone applies for finance for one of your vehicles but doesn't reserve by 9am the next day, it is classed as an 'unreserved deal'
Buyers may not complete the reservation because their finance status is 'pending'
We'll send you an email to let you know that an unreserved deal needs to be actioned
How do I manage a deal without a reservation?
You can see this deal in Portal
These deals will appear in Sales Hub, alongside your other deals
They will have a finance flag, but not a reservations flag. You can also filter to see these deals.
Unreserved deals can be managed in a similar way to deals with a reservation.
You can complete and cancel them based on the outcome
If you choose to not take action, they will not automatically expire after 21 days (unlike deals with a reservation)
How do I contact the customer?
Contact the customer:
You can find their details when you select the deal in Sales Hub
Let them know that you can see they've recently completed a finance application on Auto Trader
Auto Trader will not tell a consumer the outcome of their finance application. You may need to inform them of the outcome of the application when making contact
Reserve the vehicle:
If the customer agrees to move forward, you will need to mark the vehicle as reserved or complete in Sales Hub. This will prevent other deals from being made on the same vehicle.
Please note: reservations made via Sales Hub will be marked as reserved, but Auto Trader will not hold a £99 reservation fee from the buyer.
Cancel the deal:
If you can’t reach an agreement with the customer on the vehicle, you can cancel the deal in Sales Hub
Blocked deals:
If you receive a new reservation on a vehicle, while having an unreserved deal in progress, the unreserved deal will be blocked. You won't be able to edit or complete these deals. If for any reason the reservation is cancelled, all in progress deals will be unblocked.
To manually unblock a deal, you will need to cancel any reservations on that vehicle.
