To ride a 50CC motorbike, you'll need:
- To be at least 16 years old
- Have a provisional licence
- Have completed a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course, which is valid for two years
- Have a valid Theory Test Pass Certificate
- Use L plates (L or D plates in Wales) until you pass your AM license
Good to know: You won't be able to carry passengers or ride without L plates until you get your AM licence
If you have a full car licence issued before 1st February 2001. You'll be able to ride without L plates and carry passengers without taking your CBT.
