- Contact your finance provider to obtain the right permissions
- Fill in a Vehicle-On-Hire Certificate (VE103B)
- Make sure you have the right motor insurance and breakdown cover
- Find out what local driving laws are, including speed limits, road markings and road signs
- Prepare your car for the long trip, such as ensuring your tyres are above the legal limit
