There are a few things you need to sell your car at auction:
1. A valid V5C document in your name
A V5C, also known as a log book or vehicle registration certificate, is your car’s proof of registration issued by the DVLA.
If you can’t find your V5C, you can apply online or by phone for a replacement V5C document.

2. Up-to-date MOT (Ministry of Transport)
The MOT is a test that vehicles in the UK need to pass to ensure they're safe and roadworthy. The test checks important things like brakes, lights, tyres, and emissions.
If your car passes, you get an MOT certificate, which means your vehicle meets the minimum legal standards to be on the road. Your car will need to have an up-to-date MOT to sell at auction.
